Game of the night: Pistons (3-0) at Knicks (0-3)

Nobody expected this. Detroit has won all three of its games, and on Sunday it beat Philadelphia from start to finish. New York has lost all three, most recently to Orlando.

The Pistons will be short-handed: Jalen Duren (hamstring) and Ausar Thompson (ankle) are out, and Isaiah Joe (hip) is a game-time decision. The Knicks are without Jose Alvarado (ankle).

Late game: Trail Blazers at Lakers (3-0)

The Lakers are 3-0 after wins over Golden State, the Clippers and Utah. Luka Doncic scored 52 points against the Jazz and is averaging 34.3 points and 8.0 assists over the last three games. Austin Reaves is averaging 26.7 points over the same stretch.

Portland’s backcourt of Damian Lillard and Ja Morant gives the Lakers a real test. Los Angeles will be without Adou Thiero (knee) and Cameron Carr (oblique).

The other games

  • Nets at Celtics, 7:30 pm ET: An Atlantic Division game in Boston.
  • Kings at Spurs, 8:00 pm ET: San Antonio hosts Sacramento.
